188: Nuns and monks are real Tibetan heroes:
Monks and nuns are always in majority both inside and outside Tibet to participate or lead any activity for the common cause of Tibet. They are also majority in sacrificing lives for Tibet. What I am eager to highlight here is that since March 10 this year, there have been several different programs and activities for the cause of Tibet both inside and outside Tibet and majority of the leaders and participants are monks and nuns. Recently from July 28, TYC has organized one program in New Delhi where the participants are not only abstained from eating, but also from drinking too and there are only six strikers and among them five are monks and one is lay man. I have heard that there are thousands of TYC members throughout the country, but none of them are here in this activity. Not only that, there are many people in the society, so it is high time for all of us to stand united for our common cause. In a nutshell, monks and nuns are the most active in leading and participating in all the activities related to Tibet cause and also they are the one who are also active in preserving and promoting our cultural heritage. By saying all these, I never meant to say that our lay men and women have never participated in this year’s activities but I just want to remind all that we have many things yet to be learnt from monks and nuns while participating in the activities.
