Beginning from last March, Tibetans in Nepal have been continuously doing endless activities for our common cause of Tibet and similarly, they’ve been suffering under merciless treatment by local police. Recently on August 7 during the peaceful procession in the locality, Nepalese police had torn the portrait of His Holiness The Dalai Lama, which deeply saddens Tibetans in particular and the whole Buddhist community at large. It is quite difficult to guess the reason behind such a disrespect activity by police. But at this very period of time, Maoist is holding the most powerful position in Nepal politics. Recently, this political party had spread wrong allegation to H.H.The Dalai Lama too. There have been sound relationship between the two neighbouring countries Tibet and Nepal for thousands of years and although the Nepal government can’t give complete support for Tibet cause, but it is completely unfair to stand on China’s side by beating and restricting Tibetan peaceful activists in the country. As far as Maoist is concerned, this is the party whose members are the followers of Mao Tsetung who was responsible for the death of millions of Tibetans and Chinese peoples. The Nepali people who’s religion and language are similar to Tibetans couldn’t tolerate the recent incident took place in the country and have announced that they are going to appeal the Nepal government for justice. As far as Nepal government is concerned, the country is not yet well-developed with regards to economy, development and politics, and therefore for the betterment of one’s own country, the government has to comply with her neighbouring countries like India and China but it is not good for Nepal to forget the past healthy relationship between Nepal and Tibet.  Not only that, it may prove harmful for the stability of the government if they continue beating peaceful Tibetan activists and tearing portraits of His Holiness The Dalai Lama. H.H.The Dalai Lama is not only the leader of Tibetans but also of the whole Buddhist community, so therefore, it is utmost important for Nepal government to be careful about the personal emotions of the Buddhist people of their country. In a nutshell, although several numbers of peaceful Tibetan activists were severely beaten up and tortured by Nepal police, but none of them have ever retaliated back to the police. They have been thoroughly tolerant and peaceful and received every treatment given by police. That is the prestige of Tibetan people and we should continue our protest peacefully in future too.
