Due to the emergency situation in Tibet, Tibetan Parliament in Exile in association with the Kashag has initiated the Tibetan Solidarity Committee during the fifth session of the Parliament. Several numbers of activities were organized in every Tibetan society under the leadership of the Committee.

The future status of the Tibetan Solidarity Committee will depend on its work done in the past six months since its inception in March 2008. When we look back to the past six months, unlike in the past, number of activities has been organized this year in every parts of Tibetan society. Due to the emergency situation in Tibet, many Tibetans have developed deeper interest on Tibet issue and not only that, everyone has been trying to post every emergency information from Tibet into their websites in different languages like Tibetan, English, Chinese, Hindi, etc. At some periods of time, meaningful replies have been given to emergency crackdown in Tibet by Chinese government, new policies of Chinese government being made and implemented in Tibet and also to the wrong allegations towards H.H.The Dalai Lama. On the other hand, the committee has weakness too for not able to lead all the governmental and non-governmental organizations equally.  Generally, the situation in Tibet is still under emergency and very few verdicts have been passed and majority of the Tibetans who were imprisoned are still suffering under oppression in respective prisons. Since the Beijing Olympic has already been concluded, the Tibetan people are being arrested, imprisoned, tortured, killed by Chinese police and army. Considering the emergency situation in Tibet, the government and people in exile must not neglect the issue and relax at this period of time. The severe restriction is being imposed in every part of Tibet and therefore, the local Tibetan people are not able to stage peaceful protest often and it doesn’t mean that the emergency situation in Tibet has been calmed down. It is essential to propagandize the current emergency situation in Tibet throughout the world and to protect our brothers and sisters from such cruel treatment by Chinese police.  When the Tibetan issue was being spread throughout the world, it has been decreased due to two main reasons:  The Tibetan government in exile had conveyed its friendly message of hope, best wishes and prayers to the international athletes which depicted a new picture of the plight of Tibet and although it didn’t give any positive impact to Sino-Tibetan relationship but greatly affected the international perspective towards the emergency situation inside Tibet. For instance, the President of France had decided and even expressed his decision to international Media that he was not going to attend the Opening Ceremony of Beijing Olympic, but on contrary, the Tibetan government in Exile has expressed its best wishes for Beijing Olympic and even expressed for not having any grudge or negative feelings towards the Chinese government for the recent crackdown in Tibet. So therefore, the France President had no any other reason for shunning the Opening Ceremony of Beijing Olympic and as a result, he attended the ceremony. It happened only because of the deeds of Tibetans. On the other hand, the news with regards to the TibetChina earthquake. The respective Medias started covering stories about major earthquake in China. Therefore, it is fact that China is much benefited by these two incidents and huge loss to the side of Tibet. If we look into the present plight of Tibet, more restriction is being imposed inside Tibet and torture and beatings are still continued there. The Tibetans may lose patience and due to frustration, the Tibetans may again break into peaceful protest against Chinese government. As a result, there will be more arrest, imprisonment, torture, killing, etc. inside Tibet. Therefore, it is utmost important for the Tibetan Government and people in Exile to be ready to face and handle such situation in future. issue has been decreased in International Media due to
